We have worked hard to create a product that supports ongoing behaviour change, without contributing to the clutter of our user's digital lives. That’s why we have some strict product principles, similar to those which have been outlined by the Centre for Humane Technology, including:

  • No Scrolling: we offer users one tip a day to educate and inspire them to phone/life balance. Whilst more content would hold our users longer, it’d just not necessary

  • No social network: we purposefully have limited the number of people you can invite to track on SPACE to 4 people. We believe changing habits together is about small, mindful groups of close friends or family.

  • No advertising: we are a small start-up who could do with the money, but still, we don’t allow advertising in our app. It just contributes to the attention drain on our users and it doesn’t make our product richer.

  • No gamification: we offer just a few ‘easter eggs’ so that our users can enhance their galaxy, but SPACE is not a game. It’s a tool for you to build healthier habits with your phone, not a reason to keep you there.


We know that digital behaviour change is a tricky.  And for us, building SPACE to help with digital    behaviour change was really tricky.  We're fighting against some of the brightest minds in the world who are developing the addictive products that our users want to break free from. 

As such our product uses the principles of digital behaviour change, including goal setting, reciprocity, positive encouragement, rewards and knowledge sharing to help nudge users towards better habits.  

When we started, we knew we needed help and that's why we partnered with some of the leading universities in the world to develop our product so that it is informed by evidence and research in the fields of nomophobia, digital behaviour change and wellbeing.  Here's a summary of some of the work that we've done to date.

Wherever possible, we've tried to keep SPACE free.  But at the end of the day, we're a little company that also needs to keep the lights on. 

That's why we've also made SPACE Pro available - a bundle of super-charged tools and features which go one step further to help you find your phone/life balance.

Our 8 Day course offers relatable, informative and easy to action research and recommendations delivered day by day to help you find your phone/life balance. Understand why our phones are addictive, and what changes we can make to our physical, social and emotional lives, to help change habits once and for all.  

SPACE Pro friends:  

We know that people are more likely to achieve their goals, if they are actively supporting others to do the same.  You can invite up to four family members or friends, helping each other along the way as you share your results and goals. 

BENCHMARKING (coming soon):

We know that people are more likely to change their habits if they are able to compare their behaviour with others. You can share your usage results with the whole of the SPACE user base, cut your results with others in the same demo, country, or profession. 


With SPACE Pro you are able to see your progress over a 60 day period - not just from the previous week.  Great to inspire you to keep on going with habit changing - which can take some time. 


We give you more power to differentiate between the products that improve your digital wellness and those that detract from it.  Pro users can exclude up to 10 apps from SPACE and can also exclude calls.
